Horse Women & Motivational Speaker
Hello, I'm Faye O'Hara, a 33-year-old woman navigating life from a wheelchair due to a spinal injury. My journey took a dramatic turn at 15 when a car accident left me paralysed and changed the course of my existence.
Before the accident, I lived for horses, spending a decade passionately riding, caring for, and competing with them. The accident brought challenges—physical and emotional—that forced me to rebuild my life. I battled through rebellion, despair, and self-destructive behaviour, but eventually, a realisation hit me: change was necessary.
Adapting to a wheelchair life was daunting, and it took years to regain stability. During this time, I distanced myself from horses, unable to bear the pain. But a spark remained, pushing me to defy the odds. I embraced carriage driving, bred my own horse, and defied skeptics, including myself.
Motivated by my journey, I turned to motivational speaking. My talks aim to inspire others to see the best in themselves, showing that any dream, no matter how distant, is achievable. I share my story with humour and emotion, tailoring each talk to the audience. From schools to conferences, I've spoken widely, even showcasing my adapted horse equipment and innovative thinking in competitions.
My passion lies in proving that success is a marathon, not a sprint. I've faced setbacks, but I persist, speaking not only to share my story but to ignite the belief that everyone, regardless of circumstances, can shape their destiny. My talks have reached schools, conferences, and riding clubs, while my story has been featured in equine publications and media outlets.
