CMT or Charcot Marie Tooth Disease is a rare neurological genetic condition that affects 1 in every 2500 people or 15000 Canadians at the time of writing. Victoria Berezovich struggle with a number of challenges from trying to get a diagnosis of CMT to two spinal fusion surgeries to the mental challenge that people with all disabilities face finding individuals with similar who can support and understand us in our struggles. Diagnosed with CMT4C over 10 years ago, Victoria has firsthand experience navigating the challenges and triumphs associated with the condition, offering invaluable insights and perspectives to audiences worldwide. Victoria not only navigates life with CMT but also has navigated the medical system through various spinal fusion surgeries, brain aneurysm clipping and the discrimination she faced just to get genetic confirmation of her CMT diagnosis. Victoria delivered the keynote address at the 2023 CMTA Patient & Research Summit in Boston, MA. And also has spoken to several CMTA communities in the United States, Hawaiian Islands and internationally to CMT4C communities abroad. Victoria is a cast member of the CBC docu-series Push, a CMT4C Patient in Research Task Force Steering Committee member and has appeared in several print campaigns, published magazines and Saskatchewan Fashion Week as a model representing CMT.
