Milestones

The Sit Down Stand Out Show aired its first episode in October 2022 Anything for the Kids with Elizabeth Bradley. The idea of the podcast really began from a place of questioning myself and what I I was capable of as a broadcaster. I graduated from Durham Collage in April of 2019 with a diploma in Radio Broadcasting and Contemporary Media this was one of the proudest days of my life, unfortunately I made the mistake of thinking that I would be hired to work quickly do to my high grades. Soon after graduating the world went into lockdown do to the covid 19 pandemic, I being a disabled person who spends a lot of time at home auditioning for voiceover, audiobooks, and virtual theatre work thought that finding work from home would be easy another mistake on my part.

I decided to create the Sit Down Stand Our Show to create a platform I wanted to create a platform for individuals with disabilities like Cerebral Palsy, or mental health conditions like Depression, or Bipolar Disorder  to help people gain a better understanding of the struggles people  face daily. I wanted people with different challenges to be able to share their stories and hopefully more opportunities for people with these challenges  would become available and and I wanted  the listeners of the show to become more informed about disabilities and mental health.

I'm pleased to say that I've met people with a variety of health conditions from different  backgrounds, Nationalities, and stories of coming back from sad circumstances as I write this blog post I'm extremely proud to say that the Sit Down Stand out Show has reached 1,500 downloads and counting. I want to thank each and every guest that has taken time out of their day to share the good and bad aspects of your lives dealing with your disabilities or mental health challenges, thank to everyone who took the time to leave a 5 star review so that more viewers to find our show. To any gust that has appeared on the show if you that you have been misrepresented, disrespected, or you simply didn't enjoy your episode I apologize as that was never my intent. I'm always look to represent my guest in the best light in a judgment free zone with respect and if i made a mistake I apologize.
